Classical Organs

Cookes have been supplying classical church organs to churches and homes around the country since the late 1960’s. In those days British manufacturers such as Miller Organs (built here in Norwich), Compton & Livingston dominated the market.
Today’s instruments represent a quantum leap in both tonal quality and reliability. The latest classical organs use a range of advanced digital sampling technology’s enabling them to capture and deliver the authentic richness and nuances found on some of the worlds finest pipe organs.

Cookes are proud to have been chosen by Makin, Johannus & Viscount to represent and supply their fine range of Classical Digital Organs here in East Anglia. Whether you are looking for a practice instrument for your home, or considering replacing the present organ in your Church or Chapel, Cookes are here to help you.
We have a dedicated Classical Organ Showroom located in a quiet part of our building where you will be able to see and play the latest instruments for yourself. We also supply, subject to availability, pre-owned classical organs.
Cookes Organ Showroom
During the past 12 months an increasing number of our home customers have requested that their new organ be installed upstairs. Very often, a spare bedroom suddenly becomes “The Organ Loft” and yes, you can use headphones so as not to disturb the rest of the family or the neighbours!
If you are considering an instrument upstairs, then on request, one of our skilled delivery team can assess the access and stairs to see whether or not this is possible. Please do remember some of the new classical organs we supply are built to be as compact and as home – friendly as possible and are often available with a ‘split console’ option.
For potential Church customers, we are happy to visit you to discuss your individual requirements and to give advice when requested. We understand and appreciate that purchasing a new organ for your Church is a major investment. It is often a protracted process which needs to be handled with patience, tact and understanding.
Why not pay us a visit here at Cookes? You will be offered a warm & friendly welcome, view and play a fine range of instruments, should you prefer, we will happily demonstrate them to you. It is important to mention that we do not pressurise our customers in any way. It is a practice we personally deplore. We are here to help you, in a relaxed, comfortable and attentive way.

You are most welcome to visit our showrooms and being in the heart of East Anglia we are well served by road and rail networks. We are a 5-minute walk from the city centre and a 15-minute walk from the railway station.

However, if you are coming by train and would like to be collected from the station we are happy be arrange this for you. We have been trading in the fine City of Norwich since 1887 so we are well known to local stores and taxis drivers.

To request your free copy of the latest Johannus, Makin & Viscount brochures and a complimentary CD/DVD or for directions to the shop, then please call us on 01603 625970 and ask for Steven Battle, or you can email us here at cookespianos@ntlbusiness.com

Better still, why not pay us a visit personally to see and hear the remarkable developments in Classical Organ design – please don’t forget to bring your music!

Testimonials

Over the years, I have personally purchased three Johannus organs through Cookes (en route to my present Cavaillé-Coll style instrument), have recommended their services to other purchasers, and have also assisted with the tonal finishing of certain of their installations. Throughout, I have been aware of their reliable and efficient approach, and their commendable desire to provide responsible service tailored to individual needs'.
